{"id":693,"date":"2014-05-01T19:52:21","date_gmt":"2014-05-01T17:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/imer.w.uib.no\/?p=693"},"modified":"2014-05-01T19:52:21","modified_gmt":"2014-05-01T17:52:21","slug":"call-for-papers-exceptional-welfare-dilemmas-inof-irregular-migration-deadline-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imer.w.uib.no\/?p=693","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers \u201cExceptional welfare: Dilemmas in\/of irregular migration\u201d &#8211; Deadline Extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The deadline for submitting abstracts has been extended to <b>1<sup>st<\/sup> of June 2014<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Provision of Welfare to Irregular Migrants (PROVIR) will be organizing its closing conference <strong>\u201cExceptional welfare: Dilemmas in\/of irregular migration\u201d<\/strong> at the University of Bergen, 19<sup>th<\/sup> &#8211; 21<sup>th<\/sup> of November 2014. The conference will bring together researchers from various disciplines and geographic regions who are interested in the interplay between migration control and welfare policy.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>At the conference, findings from the PROVIR-project will be presented by the research team.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to keynote addresses by distinguished researchers, including Linda Bosniak, Miriam Ticktin and Heide Caste\u00f1ada, we also welcome papers to be presented at workshops.<\/p>\n<p>We especially invite contributions addressing:<\/p>\n<p>1) Irregular migrants\u2019 legal situation regarding access to welfare provisions, either in national or international law.<\/p>\n<p>2) Institutional practices and responses by service providers.<\/p>\n<p>3) Migrants\u2019 experiences, agency and embodiment.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome both theoretical and empirical ventures into these questions, and papers may combine the aforementioned issues with interdisciplinary approaches.<\/p>\n<p><b>To submit a proposal<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Paper proposals (maximum 300 words) can be submitted by sending an e-mail to <a href=\"mailto:marry-anne.karlsen@uni.no\">marry-anne.karlsen@uni.no<\/a> More information about the PROVIR-project, full call for papers and list of keynote speakers, plenary discussion participants and workshop discussants for the PROVIR closing conference is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/rokkan.uni.no\/sites\/provir\/events\/\">http:\/\/rokkan.uni.no\/sites\/provir\/events\/<\/a> and IMER Bergen at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/imer.w.uib.no\/ai1ec_event\/provir-closing-conference\/?instance_id=314\">http:\/\/imer.w.uib.no\/ai1ec_event\/provir-closing-conference\/?instance_id=314<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Free conference registration fee for PhD Candidates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The deadline for submitting abstracts has been extended to 1st of June 2014.
